My 18 month old is at that age where we need to start weaning him off the pacifier. Because of that, I was very happy to receive, at no cost, this Classic pacifier from Difrax that will hopefully pave the way to achieving our goal. We’ve already tried it for couple weeks now and I think it’s going to do the job. These semi-solid pacifiers are designed purposefully to break the “pacifier habit” in children after first year of age. What’s helping is the nipple itself, as it’s definitely much bigger and thicker, which makes the sucking that much more difficult. I have to admit that it took our son a while to get used to the pacifier, to keep it in his mouth for longer than a minute. We could tell right away that the pacifier did feel different to him. I wish we would have discovered this pacifier earlier as it does come with a 5 stage system that grows with your baby. You can get it in any size from 0-2 months to 18+ months. I’m pretty sure that if we had used it from the very beginning, the transition from one size to another would have been much easier for our little guy. Another brilliant thing about this pacifier is its design. As you can see from the picture above, all the Difrax pacifiers come in a butterfly shape which allows for extra air circulation, reducing the risk of skin irritation and keeping the nose free. And how fun are all the colors and patterns?
