With our oldest son, there was hardly ever a mess when he ate in his highchair. However, as soon as he transitioned to sitting on the “big boy” chair at the dining room table, there was always a mess. Some crumbs here, a spill there, some food there that never found his mouth, etc. Of course you could always clean it up afterwards, but we wanted something that would help right away with the mess, yet help him learn how to eat carefully as well. And then we found this. The Cibo was a life saver. One of the nice things about this is the curved pouch at the end of the mat. Now, any food that doesn’t make it into his mouth, finds its way to the pouch, and anything that he accidentally knocks off of his plate finds its way to the flat surface mat. When he’s done, we just pick it up, throw whatever is in there in the garbage, wipe it off, and it’s ready for the next meal. Clean up is a breeze. You can either run it through the dishwasher (top rack only), or use a cloth to wipe/dry. Also, this doesn’t have to be used only at home. It’s something that is so lightweight and portable that you can take it with you wherever you go – grandma and grandpa’s house, or even a restaurant. The options are limitless.
